I'm alive too!

Hello ladies! It has been a while since I posted... Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Amanda, for the love of god- could you try and post a little more regularly? I thought you were dead!! haha As for me, I am still enjoying Calgary... Can't complain. Work is busy but I love it. I just made a really big jewelry account ($30,000!!!) but alas, I can't justify a trip home for Christmas. I think I would rather pay off my visa and student loans first. We'll see... if it's Dec 23 and I want to spontaneously hop on a plane... then we shall see! Actually, I am currently taking a break from searching the local shelters about adopting a dog for Chris's "possible surprise Christmas gift" (oh lord, what am I getting myself into?) So, might not be able to go home anyhow. Well, I don't really have much else interesting to say... thought I did up until I started typing! haha Wish I could join you girls on the trip south... I am already going, so I don't know if I can swing two trips. Anyways, this is getting long! More later when I think of interesting things to write about! Bye for now!

Scotland has not taken me prisoner

hello girls!!!
I know that my posts are few and far between, but I am still alive and well and out of Scotland. After my 2 months of work at a hotel in the middle of nowhere I am back in civilization. Currently living in Manchester with two friends of Woody's. One is from England and one is from Ireland. I haven't seen two guys drink this much since uni. Living with all guys is a change. I miss girls. Hope to find friends soon!!!
We are doing well. Both found jobs. Woody in a coffee shop and I at a pub and at a sandwich cafe. The pub is just until the New Year as smoking is allowed, therefore cough cough I hate it. Plus I am labeled as the new Canadian girl and if one one more guy asks to show me around I will scream! I have to stop smiling...... but that is impossible for me to do. The sandwich place may have full time after Christmas so if I like that job that would be perfect. Both are just around the corner which is a plus.
The plan is to settle here and work then take mini trips around Europe. We went to Turkey last week....... All I have to say was it was interesting. I am sure that I will laugh about it later. It took me 15 minutes to get through customs because I had a Canadian passport but no Canadian money to give to them! Noone could speak english so they said. Agh!! Other than that it was nice once we got away from the Turkish store owners hasseling us. When you girls go down south for a vacation just walk away unless you really want to buy something. Say a firm NO Thankyou, and keep walking. Being young pretty Canadian girls you will be hasseled. I wish I were going with you. I miss having girls around.
Other than that life has been boring. We went out in Edinburgh with my ex boyfriend Jon. That went well, as nervous as I was for Woody and him to meet. Haven't been out since then. Probally wait for my birthday weekend!
I have no certain plans for Christmas. One of my roomates mom invited us for dinner but they eat Venison..... thinking I might die if I eat that. We'll see, maybe I will try and cook dinner myself..... don't laugh..... ok hahahaha I'm even laughing at that.
Well time to go smell like an ashtray.
Peace and Love, Amanda

Home For the Holidays!

Hi all! Well I just found out that I will be home for Christmast this year on December 19th (that night after work). I decided to move my schedule around a bit since we have some work to do...such as figure out our trip....a must!!!! So I was going to be off work that Friday but that really wouldn't give us much time (as I come back to Halifax on Christmas day). Anyway, so I'm getting excited for everything, I even confirmed my week off in Feb. too today! :) I am going to need a much deserved break, espcially since I just heard that my ethics is having problems going through....they think it exceeds min. risk, so .... I need to meet with the committee yadda yadda yadda.... I'll be fine
So when is everyone else coming home? Lets get some plans going for the break...martinis anyone? hahaha Lunch at Just Us Girls?? ....
Well I better get going I'll talk to you all later

Finally....

Well it seems like forever since I've been on here and it has been b/c I couldn't remember the username. Anyway, I can't write long b/c I am going to get my car fixed. For those of you who don't know someone backed into my bumper at work a couple weeks ago...ouch! But shes going in for a fixing.
I went to PEI this weeken, laid pretty low. We to the ODP and out for supper on Friday night...other then that I didn't do too much. Anyway I bascially just wanted to come on here and write something since I haven't done it in so long hahaha I'll talk to everyone later

Pam

Christmas is coming

Since I don't know when anyone else is going home for the Holidays, I figured that I would just start the countdown until Christmas. According to the countdown I will be home in about 1 month, 1 week and 2 days. Woo! That's only 5 weeks away. In case you can't tell, getting home only twice a year is not enough. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Love,
MC

Ok I'll do it!

Here goes! I may or may not have a story. My life is pretty much consumed right now with the rink, report cards, a very interesting class and of course my boy toy. Well I have two funny stories. One is my personal life and of course the other is my teacher life.

Story 1 - Personal Life
So I'm watching dancing with the stars last night. Yeah Emmett!!! Right Kendra? Anyway they had some of the couples planning to go on tour on dancing. I'm like oh my God it's Joey MacIntyre. Yeah Joey! Colin asks, "Who's Joey MacIntyre?" I respond with he's one of the New Kids on the Block. Who are they he asks. Well they're a band, you've never heard of the New Kids on the Block? I sing a few lines of Step by Step. No reaction. Try Cover Girl. He says oh I know that song, I thought it's on the oldies sometimes. I thought I would die. My only comforting thought is that it's because he lived in the country and doesn't know what's going on in the world because my brother is the same age and as much as he'd like to deny it he can name all the New Kids and can sing many songs. Anyway hope that gives you some entertainment.

Story 2 - Not funny at all
So there I am at school. My class was having a horrible day, it was a Tuesday and Halloween candy was in abundance. This kid has been going non stop all day, just talking, running around etc. At this point I'm sitting on my stool at the front of the class. I have two munchkins up front within arms reach, this kid being one of them. We're going over some reading and he's got his pencil and he tap tap tapping it. I reach for the pencil and pull it away feeling it hit something. I look at him and ask if the pencil just hit him in the eye. You know when a kid is too shocked to cry. Yeah that was him for about two seconds then he just let her wail. He's crying, I have him standing and I'm hugging him while finishing my directions to the class. He's still bawling, it hurts. Take him in the hall so at least I can ask him in english if I got him in the eyeball. Got his eyelid and there was no mark but still he was upset. I'm thinking God he can't go home and say my teacher hit me with a pencil so I phone and get the machine. Great, I say um there was an accident at school today and he accidentally go hit inthe eye by me by accident and you can call me at home at 367 umm I can't remember the rest but it's in the book. I was a tad flustered. Anyway I get home and there's a Vision Centre number on the phone. Listen to the message and it's this kid's mother telling me that everything is fine they had already planned to go to the optomotrist today. I phone her back at home and she tells me about how she phoned home ot her husband and he says oh my God you're at the doctor how's his eye? She was like huh, it's a check-up and he was like oh his teacher called and said she poked him in the eye with a pencil. Anyway these are the things that I do. Anyway hope to hear from everyone soon.

C'mon...you can do it!!

Someone please post!! Darcy has been showing off his newly revamped blog. I'm so jealous! BTW - I'm sure he'd give ours a make-over if anyone's interested. At least I think he will - maybe he likes having the cooler blog. I keep checking to see if anyone has posted. Kendra - so excited to see your comment! In the last week I have become a hermit - trying to work my ass off - so I need some entertainment. Even if it's a boring story...it's better than nothing. :) Maybe this will work...I hear McSteamy is going to start chasing Meredith. That bitch - why does she get all the boys?? For the record - McSteamy is way hotter than McDreamy. MC - Jules agrees with us too! Everyone else is crazy.

Chloe & Stella

Ok - now I'm just bored and want to post again. I'm obviously avoiding doing any work at all cost! Here are some cute pics of Stella from my visit in September when she was still tiny. Of course, Chloe is cute too...so I'm posting a couple pics of her.
L
(The last pic won't flip properly!)

Now it's my turn...

Hi everyone! Long time no post...
I had a great Halloween weekend with MC!! I was also lucky to have her visit again last night. We went to see Ryan Star in concert. (For those who live under a rock - he was on Rockstar supernova.) The concert was amazing!! Michelle and I arrived just in time for him to start singing and quickly weaved our way to the front. It was really cool because the concert was completely accoustic. It was like he was singing just for us! (Yes - I've become a super fan!) After Ryan's set, he waited around by the merch table to meet everyone. So it was a repeat of Aulac - except this time I didn't make a fool of myself. (That's especially impressive since Ryan is much hotter than Ashley. Rock is much hotter than pop.) Anyway, Ryan was all over his mistress Michelle - he was very appreciative that she made the trip from Ottawa just to see him. I think they'd make a very hot couple. MC - hunt him down tonight!

Halloween in Montreal

This doesn't want to work, so bear with the alignment of the pictures...

So, it seems it's up to me to revive the blog again. I was trying not to be the next one to post since I was the last, but you've all given me no choice in the matter. This past weekend I went down to Montreal to visit with the Lynds and to attend McGill's finest Halloween festivities. Needles to say a good time was had by all. Enjoy the pics and I hope I've inspired at least one of you to put up a post of your own...that is if anyone even remembers that there is a blog. : )

Stella

Hi ladies,

Just bored at work and thought I'd post a few new pics of Stella. She's pretty cute. Enjoy!

Ho Hum...

Hi all. Just thought I would kill a little time with a posting. Life is busy here on the west end of the country. I just finished a big fashion show (as an organizer, not model!) so I have been working around the clock. Speaking of modelling, I was approached last week by a woman who asked me 20 questions about who I am and what I do... turns out she was interested in hiring me to be a model for her clothing store ads... I laughed and graciously declined... can you imagine? Must have been a plus size store! haha Well, I have been on a cleanse for the past 10 days, so I am anxious to start eating food again.. although it shed about 12 pounds quickly enough... (all that excess vacation weight!) and I am feeling strangely perky and healthy because of it. I was just looking on Westjet at flights for December... cheaper than I thought. I had a vision today about how much fun it would be to surprise my family on Chistmas Eve. I don't know... we'll have to wait to see how the finances are. Anyone want to start a charity? haha August was a blast, but went by way too quickly. Oh Michelle, can you email me the pics from the cd? It can't get it to work. Haven't heard from Amanda in 2 weeks, so I hope she is well (if you are reading this, you'd better write me!). Well, this is getting long... I am blabbing on here. Hope everyone is well. When I have something interesting to say, I will post again... Oh, did nayone watch"Men in Trees" last night? Chris's cousin is the guy with the rugged good looks and curly hair. About as close to Hollywood as I might get... Bye for now!

Not much at this end

Michelle, I love the name Stella...your kitty is so cute!! and Lynds so is Chole, don't worry I didn't forget about her. So I don't really have much to say I just got up and I really don't want to read my article that I have to for tomorrow. I wanted to ask Lynds...did the brownie dress fit? I was in the GAP last night and they didn't have any of the brown socks left so its a good thing you got them when youd did. I don't know what I'm going to be yet...we were thinking about everyone dressing up from an era 40, 50 ,60, 70, 80, 90's I have the stuff for the flapper dance and stuff for the 80s chic!
Anyway I better get going I'll talk to you later

Meet my New Friend : )

Hello everyone,

Here's my new kitty!!! I brought her home from the Humane Society yesterday and so far so good :) She's pretty cute. Fluffy and has more energy than I can keep up with. She's taken to climbing me like a tree and with her super sharp claws, it's not so much fun. First thing I'm doing after work tomorrow is buying a nail clipper! She's good though. So far, very affectionate and playful. Her back legs are a little freaky...they hardly have any fur and she walks on the whole bottom part of her leg instead of just her foot. I'll have to get a picture of it to explain better. I think that she must be some weird sort of breed. It's quite odd. Anyway, she's still without a name, so if you think of any, let me know.

Here's a list of suggestions so far...

  • Nikki
  • Daisy
  • Fresca
  • Shiraz
  • J Lo
  • Tyrone
  • Stella

Bren thinks I should name her after a famous panda, but they've all got names like Ling Ling. Probably not, so if you have a suggestion, please leave a comment. She needs a name :) Thanks. Miss you all lots.

Love,

MC

More Peas Please!

That's right ladies, last weekend the Black Eyed Peas invaded C-town. Well Kendra and I decided that despite the gate opening at 12:30 we would head to the concert grounds around 5 - 5:30. Probably a good idea. It was a very hot day and we could hear the music from my house anyway. When we got there people were set up everywhere with their blankets etc. it looked like a family picnic not a rock concert. We sat down and everyone around us was eating PD pizza and we decided to get in on that action. Watched the Philosopher Kings before I had to brave the port-a-potty. What a time to be without your purel. So anyway after the Philosopher Kings we decided a beer was in order so we headed to the tent in time for the Pussy Cat dolls. I thought they weren't nearly as inappropriate as they could have been. In fact they did all have most private areas covered. Could have been because we were so far back we couldn't really see them just hear them and see the 3 dancing up on the catwalk. Talked to a few people in the beer tent but really didn't see many people we knew, probably because there were so many people there. For the Peas Foxy and I decided to head her up to the front because there was only two of us. We actually managed to get pretty close. The only issue was that on one side of us was a little girl with her mom and on the other side was the most obnoxious drunk guy I've ever seen. They were so awesome and they played for a really long time. During Where is the Love they told everybody to take out their cellphones and turn the light on and wave them in the air. It was pretty cool looking. The only real complaint on my end was when the obnoxious drunk guy pulled down his fly, whipped it out and started peeing. His friend was like dude and basically grabbed it and aimed. Kendra and I kinda freaked when we started getting splashed. I mean who does that, I was terrified he was going to puke on me. Still overall an amazing concert and apparently it brought in like 2 million to the city because there were so many people staying in hotels and eating etc. All right hope everyone is doing well, it's been a somewhat crazy week for me but hey I enjoy a challenge. Looking forward to seeing pics of Stella MC.

A Note From Me...

Well I finally figured out how to get back into the Blog, for some reason my cmp wouldn't let me sign in but I have now and its all good! :)
I as well had an excellent summer. I have been trying to creat the picture CDs for everyone but the last couple I burned something happened and they didn't turn out. I will keep trying but in the mean time I'm getting lots of coasters!
So our trip away is starting to get underway.... I'm think as well as the rest of you are I imagine that buying the tickets around xmas time would save us some money, not to mention then Kendra can definatley get the time off or at least ask for it ...right Kendra?? (wink wink). I'm getting so exicted I can hardly contain myself.
So everything here is going well I guess, the kiddies start back to school tomorrow, I can hardly believe that the summer is finished. so sad.
Well ladies I hope to hear from you all soon, I'm off to start up the BBQ!
Love ya all

Sniff...sniff...I miss summer

Hi girls,
Just a quick post to let you know I made it back to Montreal. I brought way too many things home with me this summer so I have lots of unpacking to do! Mom and Dad are here until tomorrow afternoon. If the weather stays nice this afternoon we're going to go to the botanical gardens.
I miss you girls already! I had such a great time at home...I feel like I was home for the whole summer! Luckily I have lots of pics to remind me of our good times! I'll make my pic cds soon so we can start sharing the love. :) CT and I had the perfect afternoon at Greenwich on my last day home. I've included a couple of pics for everyone to enjoy. Pretend you're lying on the beach with your eyes closed listening to the waves. Oh Daryl.

Lots of love, Lynds

What happens in Greenwich stays in Greenwich!

Actually no it doesn't, I'm not one to keep things under my hat. So there was Lyndsay and I on the beautiful sandy beach of Greenwich. We went out in the water despite the late date and stood out there until we turned blue. Didn't actually go under but went out to our waists. Next we came out and you know that fresh shaved stingy feeling. We both had that going on and decided it was time to hike back to the car. Well we decided we didn't want to hike back in our wet bathing suits. So I put on my shirt and slipped on my bra and off my top etc. Next we were like how are we going to change out bottoms. Lynds didn't have any panties so she decided to go commando. Smart of her, for some reason when packing my backpack I'd packed a thong. So there I was with my towel wrapped around me trying to hold it and pull up my thong. Well the towel did slip a little. The Lynds saw my ass but I think the kids next to us saw the front. Don't scream they were way down the beach but I'm sure they were watching Lynds and I because we were entertaining with those towels wrapped around us trying to get dressed. Ah good times. Went to Fishbones last night with Lynds and Angela and that's a wrap on the summer. I have to work in the morning. Then the concert this weekend with Kendra then it's fall season!! All right hope that fills your story gap for awhile. Hope everyone is thinking of questions for Christmas. I bought a laminator the other day for $15 at Walmart so we can even keep the ones we like.

Somewhat settled in Scotland

May I say again that it was great to see everyone while I was home. Hope to do it next summer.
Woody and I are safe and sound in Scotland. Surrounded by great sea air and good pints of beer. We are in the small town of Oban as we decided to get out of the city to work. We got a job on Monday at a hotel just outside the town. For the last few days we have been enjoying the area. Hikes to the ruins of a castle, picnics on the Isle of Mull, and many pints at the pub with some great locals! We are planning on woking for the winter months and saving money. Accomodation is included so we should have enough saved up to go nuts in Europe for awhile!
When we get totally settled I will write more and try and send pics.
Hope all is well in Canada!

Love, Amanda

I just can't seem to keep my clothes on

Do you guys remember when I used to do silly and embarassing things? I know what you're thinking, thank goodness you outgrew that phase! Well apparently not. Listen to all that went on with me this weekend and week. Sunday morning I had planned to go to church with Allyn. That was fine I put on a cute little shirt (the white one with the pink embroidery) and a pink skirt. Off we went to church. Now in Kensington after church you head out to eat. We chose the Country Oven but it was too crowded so we were heading to Summerside when we spotted Bakin Donuts. Thought we'd give it a try. Had a beautiful breakfast sandwich and headed to the washroom. Then it was time to go. Some man in a cowboy hat gave me a funny kind of nod, I smiled and we drove back to the farm. Got out of the car and reached to scratch my leg. Funny my leg was exposed. Oh my dear heaven! My skirt was totally tucked in to my underwear! Can you believe it?? Don't answer that if you value your life!! So that brings us to today. The Lynds and I decided to head to Greenwich for a beautiful hike followed by some relaxing time at the beach. All right this will have to be finished later, heading out with my mom.

Back to O-Town

I just wanted to let everyone know that I made it back here alive. I think it was a close call though...in Montreal we had the worst descent I've ever experienced on a plane. So much turbulence, but the actual landing was perfect. I was a little worried for a minute, but I survived. The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful.

I'll post some pics when I get home tonight. I forgot to charge the batteries on the camera last night, so I couldn't get anything off of it.

Everyone should email their address so that I can send them all the pics. I realized that I took like 130, so there's bound to be one or two good ones. Not to mention the videos ;)

I miss you all already and I wish I was back there in PEI with you getting ready for the beach instead of sitting at my desk catching up on emails and paperwork. Can't wait to do it again next year :D

And don't forget...I'll be home December 22 @ 12:35. Only a short 17 or so weeks.

Miss you lots.

Love,
MC

sister stranger

I have arrived safely in Grande Prarie. Staying with my brother Allan and his family. My other brother Shawn came to pick me up at the airport and didn't even recognize me! It was quite funny. It has been about 3-4 years since I have seen them. It's very interesting to be on a totally different level with them now that I am older and able to understand who they are and what they do. They work in the oil fields and Allan and his business partner have invented an object that helps detect when there is a "washout": sour gas coming up before it happens. It will save lives and they are going to do well.
I am glad that I came here and glad that I have developed a relationship with them again. The kids have grown up so much!
I am so excited to get to PEI and see you all agian. Woody wishes that he could come meet you all, but I have lots of photos and you will get to meet his someday....
See you all On Saturday (Aug 5th). Hope you all have arrived safely!

Can I get a woop woop!

Well ladies, looks like everyone is set and ready for a great time in August! Glad to hear everyone is doing so well. As for myself, I am super-excited to get home and get the party started! I get home the evening of August 3... so I will be ready to go Friday night for whomever is up for it (CT maybe? Hmmm?? haha) Oh, by the way, as some of you might know, I carry a jewelry line from New York that I distribute here in Calgary. I am thinking about taking some of it home with me, and I am wondering who might be up for a little jewelry party? We can talk about it when I get home though... Anyways, just wanted to check in and say this is going to be one hell of a good summer! See you soon girlies!

stories are better and quicker in person

Hey there everyone! Do you ever have so much to write that you just don't want to write? Well first of all, Lyndsay I am still serious about going on the trip!! And Congrats on getting all that money, i'm sure it will really help out a lot :)
Now as for the wedding!!! It went over really well and I'll bring home pictures to show you and I'll tell you more stories later and in person b/c they will be better that way. They got married at Niagria on the Lake in a little chapel then had the dinner etc. at the Hilton that just opened up a few months prior, actually it was the first wedding they held. Everything was so nice and Jenn was so pretty. I want to write more but the stories are much better to be told in person. I'm posting a picture I thought was really nice that I took.

PS I got a new research job at MSVU and quit my rec. coordinator position today (gave 2 weeks). In the interview I had mentioned I wanted that week off in Aug. and I still got it so yea yea!!

Talk to you all soon!

My news!!

I just got some exciting news yesterday. I've been awarded a FERASI fellowship for the upcoming year!! (FERASI is a big organization dedicated to nursing administration research.) I'm so excited!! My friend David also got one so we're going out for celebratory drinks Monday night. (Julie (and some other classmates) also applied for one but I don't know yet if she got one. She's off learning French right now.) I'll be setting aside some money to fund my trip to a tropical destination so I hope you're serious about going!!!
Darcy was in Montreal this week. He had to write his American boards exam Monday and just left tonight. Tuesday night we went to see Dimitri Martin who was here for the Just for Laughs festival. He was hilarious! Yesterday we did some shopping for his new nephew (Jonas Lee - 8 lbs 14 oz) and later went for drinks with some of D's friends. I also found a Madonna t-shirt like one on her website - which was obviously very exciting for me. :) We went out for dinner at a BYOW place tonight to celebrate my scholarship tonight before he left. Matt arrives back in MTL soon because the meds start back to school Monday. Then MC is coming next Friday!! Yippee!!!!! I'm very excited for your visit - I have lots of plans! (Don't worry - movies and brownies will be scheduled in too!!!) A little over 2 weeks until I arrive in PEI!! Summer in Montreal has been fun but it's not the same as PEI!! I plan to go to the beach as much as possible. Anyone know if you can fix bathing suits once the elastic dies? I don't understand what happened to my fav bathing suit...damn Old Navy.
Miss you lots.
Love, Lynds

No more suspense

Sorry MC I have been trying to get ahold of you for awhile, suppose you are busy doing that thing some like to call a career! :)
I am just heading into my last week of work and jumping for joy!!!
Next week will be relaxing. I am heading to the Okanagan to meet my new boyfriends' parents (met his dad already when he was in town for a drumming circle)......
New boyfriend.... His name is Woody (parents are hippies, guess his middle name and you win a prize). We met on the bus when I was coming home from work. Everything in this relationship is forming so easily. I am in love. I wanted to tell you all in person however I don't want to leave you in suspense anymore than I have to. I have never said, "I love you" to anyone before this. Sure I have been excited and abit overdramatic with some of my past "likes", however this one is different. I just know it. We are in for a long-haul.
I will still be arriving on PEI as planned August 5th but plans after that have changed a little. I am now staying on PEI until the end of October when I am then flying to Glasgow, Scotland and to Woody who is meeting me there. He is staying here in Vancovuer until his brother (whom he lives with now) finds a place to live and until he can get all the rest of his affairs in order. He ironicaly recievied his British Passport 2 weeks after we met.
I have finally met someone real. Someone who is willing to travel and has an amazing zest for life and actually nice.
I'll leave the rest of the details for when we meet. I am so happy!

Peace, Amanda

Leaving Tomorrow...

Well tomorrow I head to Ontario for the big wedding, it will be a quick trip casue I come back on Sunday afternoon. I wish that I was staying longer :(... oh well. I'm really pumped up for the reunion too, i'm trying not to think about it too much cause I kinda think maybe that was part of last year's problem, too high of an expectation!? I don't know, either way I'm still excited. There "might" be a problem with me coming home (if I get a new job) but I"m letting them know in the interview that I had vaction booked off that week. Let's keep our fingers crossed that a. i get the job and b. get the time off! :) hahaha Don't worry about it though I'm not going to miss out this week for anything in the world!
Well I haven't packed or anything so I should get going and get some stuff done. Have fun visiting Lyndsay Michelle, when do you go? ....

Love y'all!
Peace

I changed up the template of the blog for a bit. With the dark background you couldn't see my countdown to the reunion! I'll post it again just to make sure you see it :P Can't wait!

All-American Rejects

Hello ladies,

I thought I'd contribute with my own concert pics. I've been to quite a few in the last couple of weeks, but I have surprisingly few pics from them all. Except from Saturday when I went a little nuts. It's too bad they all ended up looking almost identical. Started off with Great Big Sea when CT arrived, then Sam Roberts and Matt Mays (who was a little disappointing), Nelly Furtado and Live on Wednesday and All-American Rejects on Saturday. They were really good, but so messed up. I'd love to know what kind of drugs they were on. Above is one of my few pics where the lead singer doesn't look totally mental. I wish there were more!

Is everyone getting pumped for the Reunion: Take 2? I'm really hoping that this one goes a little smoother than last year :P Although, I think this one's going to be even bigger and better. I'm so ridiculously excited. I think I really need to get away from here for a bit. I've been in the same city and same job for 6 months!!! That's quite a record for me considering how much I've moved in the last few years and how I've made no committment for more than 4 months at a time. It's got me feeling a little restless and like a need to travel. So, to remedy that I'm going to go to Montreal to visit the Lynds the weekend before I go home. Hopefully that'll help me out :)

I feel like there was something else I was going to mention. No idea. Oh, Amanda, if you read this, can't you just write a post to let us all know what your news is? I keep missing your freaking phone calls and the suspense is starting to get to me. You've confirmed it's about a boy, but I'm still trying to figure out why it means you'll be staying in PEI longer. Is he from there? Meeting you there? Do we already know him? Come on...we're curious.

I should be off since I am at work, but this is the beauty of coming in an hour before most other people. Miss you all so much and I'll see most of you in 19 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday Night LIVE Concert!

Rockin' The Strings...

Lighting Crashes!!

yum yum

Well Kendra and I had a great time at the concert last night. I was very impressed with Ed as he was sporting a pair of Rockin' Republic jeans...excellent sense of style. It was his birthday was last night too! I will post some pictures on the blog but the others I will put on my space. We went to eat at a great Italian resturant before yum yum!! The food was wonderful, drinks were so good. Well I'll let you all mull over these pictures he took his shirt off too but I think we were too distracted :)
One point I want to make though, if I ever catch any of you making out, holding hands, in the arms of your "loved one" at a rock concert I'm going to kick you! You should have seen the people, beside us , behind us, all around us...I was like YOUR AT A ROCK CONCERT ... if you want to be like that stay at home, it was annoying!! hahaha Anyway enough of that, onto the pictures...Enjoy!

Finally...words from Pam

Well I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well. This week has been pretty damn crazy for me. On Thursday we had a strawberry Ceilidh at work the attendance was approx.300+ we were expecting over 500 but it was raining and we had to have it inside, so that was busy. So afterwards we have a couple drinks at the bar and smoking with the boss!! hahaha Needless to say that was interesting.
My visit at home last weekend was alright, it was so freakin' busy. I got my hair colored which makes me feel a lot better. The shower???? WOW it was pretty terrrible. The brides mother (my aunt) invited all these old relatives from all over...and I mean old, like can't walk, can't put food in their mouths or straighten their backs!! Mean, but I'm in gero. so i can get away with it!! :)
Besides that I met up with Debbie and we had an interesting night, first the Piolet House and then down by the jazz festival. We went to the "just us girls" shop and had maritnis yum yum...very strong!! :) One of the ladies that runs the place was there and I was asking her about the cotton candy pink expresso machine that was there, she said that ordered that from Italy, it was the only one that company ever sent to Canada.Anyway they sell lots of stuff, food, dessert, fun drinks, we should really.
As for the Canada rocks concert, Debbie would really like to go I was telling her about it so she will be my date...why do we HAVE to bring dates?? Can't we all just go as a group.?? Anyway I have lots to do today buying Jenn's wedding gift etc. Should be fun

OH YEA KENDRA AND I ARE GOING TO LIVE..AND WE GOT FRONT ROW SEATS!! (SUNDAY)!!

Can't wait to see you soon
Love
Pam xoxo

I'm back......

Hi girls, It is your long lost friend that got abit trapped in the Vancouver lifestyle but has surfaced once again stronger and happier than ever!
I will be home for the best August ever. I believe that summer does not start until we are all home together on PEI!!! Beach, Pool, BBQ's and Peakes (and Baba's for me) that is all I will be doing for the 2 weeks we are all together. I have lots of news and stories, but will wait until I can tell you all in person. Or over the phone tomorrow (MC and CT try not to be too hungover when I call, hahaha).
Love you all and see you in less than one month!!!! I am so excited.

Peace, Amanda

Viva Italia!

I've never seen a city so crazy over the World Cup (except I'm sure many European cities!). It has been crazy here ever since it started but today I felt out of place not draped in an Italian or French flag! After the game today people were parading through the streets totally blocking traffic. At one point I thought there was going to be a riot between some Italian and French fans.
Tonight I went to the Jazz Festival again with a couple friends. It was the last night so the streets that were blocked off for the festival were jam packed with people. It was insane! My friends had to leave early because they work early tomorrow so I decided to stay downtown and listen to some more music since I have tomorrow off. I'm glad I did because I had a great time. I met a couple of guys - Guillaume (un Quebecois) and Garreth (a kiwi). They were friends who had met while both were in Australia. The were entertaining for awhile but I lost them when I went to look at the souvenirs. I said I'd try to find them but knew there was a slim chance of that happening in the crowd. I want to be here for the festival again next year! It's such a cool atmosphere with good music and public drinking...it was like one gigantic beer tent! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! I'm dying in the humidity up here...damn frizzy hair! Miss you lots and lots. Less than one month until I come home! I can't wait for the beach!

Love, Lynds

Ladies!!

It's the summer. Potentially the most amazing bestest best summer ever!! And noone has anything to say beside how bored MC is at work. Weak ladies, it's weak. As for me I am sunburnt beyond. MC and I went to a 'beach' / lake in Quebec yesterday and I didn't put on sunscreen because you all know how I end up with ridiculous tan lines when I put on sunscreen. Well somehow I still got ridiculous tan lines but this time it was not my fault. Last night we went out to the mall and afterwards we watched Pride. Decent movie although seemed a little long. So that's about it, Great Big Sea on Friday night was awesome!! They are so good live. Tomorrow night we're going to Sam Roberts and Matt Mayes and Wednesday it's Live and Nellie Fortado. Thus rounding out a good vacation. That's about it for me. Pam how was your weekend home and bridal shower? Kendra Lynds what's going on with you. Kendra I know you appear to be missing in action yet check the blog every day. So I think we need to finalize a date for Canada Rocks for those who want to attend. MC says she'll go if she's home. It doesn't matter to me but you guys need to find a date when you're all home or some people need to decide not to go. Anyway that's all I've got for you ladies, hope all is well and you're enjoying your July. Hey Amanda and Marla, you guys still out there??? Amanda I can't believe I haven't heard yet how excited you are to come home. I would think you'd be so ready for a night at Peakes!!
Love you all,
CT

Bored

I am so bored at work. I'm miserable! The morning went by really fast, but this afternoon's going to last forever! I just have a bunch of little things on the go at the moment and they're not doing much to fill my time. On the upside, CT will be here tomorrow night and she can distract me from work...at least in the evenings.

I hope everyone had a good Canada Day. Carolyn from TO was here. We had fun. Didn't do anything too over the top, but it was nice to just have someone around. We went downtown for the fireworks, saw the changing of the guard yesterday, saw the locks opening on the canal and wandered the Market. Pretty fun.

I don't really have much else to say. Just needed to distract myself from the office for a minute.

I'll be home one month from today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Happy Canada Day Everyone

For the occassion I will write in RED!!Not doing too much on Canada day this year. Rebecca got a cottage and is going down but Gus has to work which means Beth won't go down and I'm not going if its just Becca, Sean and me...no thanks. I'm going to a concert on Alderney Landing (Dartmouth) and Joel Plaskett is going to be there, thats on Sunday and I got Monday off yea yea.
I did end up getting tickets for the Dixie chicks, the concert i'm going to is on the 9th though, they put in an extra show which is good. I'm kinda excited about it :)
I saw the movie "Lake House" the other night and it was so good, a total chick flick. Beth and I went to see it, and there were 2 guys ALONE there in front of us....interesting....hahaha
Oh Lyndsay, I wanted to tell you there is a cd/dvd 2 disc of madonna and it has a 2hr.dvd with her concert ..invention concert (??) forgetting the name , anyway i wanted to get it but I picked up her new cd and the "special edition" of fried green tomatos!! So I 'll get it next time ( I saw it at the future shop...you most likely already have it) But I thought I would mention it.

Love you ladies, can't wait to see you soon

Long time no post

Hi ladies,

Sorry I've been so slack in my postings to the blog lately. I just have nothing new to tell. Last weekend was spent at Peggy and Hugh's, as per usual. Ended up eating way too much and drinking too much on Saturday night when Jonny Pearcy called out of the blue to say he was in town, so we all hung out. Nothing too extrodinary to report about the experience.

This weekend, for Canada Day, my friend Carolyn from TO will be coming to visit. As well, Jonny will be back in town, this time with his woman in tow, and I've conviced Stephen Liu to make the trek from Kingston. Hopefully it works out well and the weather cooperates. Unfortunately the groups's going to be a little smaller than first anticipated, especially with the absence of the Lynds :( TO Carolyn leaves Monday evening, then I have one day before CT arrives. Have you figured out what time you get here yet? It would be very helpful :P

In other news, part of my package from Australia arrived. Due to a mix up on Dr. Rob's part, the shipping info on the original package was filled out wrong and he ended up sending the package to himself at the office. Brilliant, I know. So, instead of resending the whole thing, he went on eBay and purchased a webcam from TO and had it shipped directly to me. Got it all set up on Thursday, but have yet to actually use it. I'm nervous! We haven't seen each other in over two years and I worry that he's going to see me on there and I'm not going to be what he remembered/expected and he's not going to want to talk to me anymore :( I'm such a paranoid girl.

I also wanted to comment on Kate Ellis's wedding. I just saw the pic in the Guardian online yesterday. She looked amazing! I never imagined she could look so girly. Jane, on the other hand, does not look so good as a blonde. Just my opinion.

And my last comment is on a blog I came across through MJ's...http://overheardinchtown.blogspot.com/ . It's quite entertaining. Just started up a couple weeks ago I think, but it's comments overheard in Charlottetown. Anyone can email them in and get them posted. I think some of us should remember some of the classics we all overheard while working in theDish. I recommend that you all check it out and perhaps we can all discuss our fave Cavendish/dumb tourist quotes.

That's it for me. I'm at work and should probably be productive. Miss you all so much and see you in 38 days :D

Madness...

I want to see the show again!! I was a little disappointed when I heard there was a set playlist and found out it didn't include some of my favs (e.g. Like a Prayer and Material Girl). But after seeing the show, there is no way I could ever be disappointed. She put on such an amazing show complete with a gigantic disco ball, 20 unbelieveable dancers & 7 costume changes. Every little detail was choreographed. There were gigantic screens and many, many props. I want her to come back! Our shirts were awesome - pink with an M inside circle and covered with glitter and sequins. After the show, we heard some people saying "I didn't see those shirts for sale. They're cute." We were dying...it was hilarious. Now my excitement here for the summer is over and I want to go home!!! I can't wait to go to the beach. My nalgene is all ready. I found the perfect summer beverage - Boris cool. It looks exactly like water!!

Miss you lots! xoxo Lynds

This was the set list:
"Future Lovers/I Feel Love"
"Get Together"
"Like A Virgin"
"Jump"
"Live to Tell"
"Forbidden Love"
"Isaac"
"Sorry"
"Like It Or Not"
"I Love New York"
"Ray of Light"
"Let It Will Be"
"Drowned World/Substitute For Love"
"Paradise (Not For Me)"
"Music Inferno (with Where's the Party)"
"You Thrill Me/Erotica"
"La Isla Bonita"
"Lucky Star"
"Hung Up"

OH MY GOD !!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE IS AMAZING!

I just got home!!!!!!!!!!! The show was amazing. She was amazing and damn hot!! I thought I was going to lose my voice from screaming and my hands are still sore from all of the clapping. We got some awesome pics and videos so I'll post some soon. The concert was mainly new songs mixed with some old classics like Lucky Star, Like a Virgin, La Isla Bonita, & Erotica. (Like a Prayer didn't make an appearance...the song with her on the cross was Live to Tell.)

I'm exhausted now...I'll give a more detailed post tomorrow!

Love, Lynds

Glad to have such great friends :)

Well I just want to say Thank you to Michelle, who totally saved me this morning while I was trying to work on my analysis!! yikes...freakin' correlation/regression shit! :) Its great to know that whever you are you still have friends that are always willing to help you!! Thanks Michelle!!

I'm very devistated by the transformation fo P&W...I had NO idea, chilli lights and terrible seats are what made it the way it was, I as well will have to check out this scene.

As for the Canada Rocks concert, should we buy tickets in advance, I really would like to go and see it when I am home. Let me know if I have to buy them online or soemthing.

Well I present my propsal tomorrow at noon. I'm pretty nervous but I will be so glad to have it all done. I'm glad to finally be moving on to something different other then my propsal.

Talk to you all soon, I miss you all so much and can't wait for Aug. to come around.

Here's to trip 2007 ah yea!!

Two more days!!!!!

Hello girlies,
Sorry I've been MIA lately on here. I was busy working on my research proposal. It's also been a little overwhelming getting oriented to the floor. It's much better now - I'm finally feeling comfortable. I'm not a fan of working nights though - any tips Kendra??? Now I'm off work until Friday night. That means I have all day tomorrow and Thursday to get ready for Madonna!! I'm starting to get super excited again. I can't wait. She'll be in MTL tomorrow for the 1st concert. Maybe I can track her down! :) Can you imagine?? I would die!
Other excitement - I had last weekend off which was the St. Laurent street fair. St. Laurent is closed to cars and all the stores have sidewalk sales and all the restaurants and bars have huge patios. It's basically a huge party all weekend. I went out for drinks with some friends Friday night. Saturday, Jane, Chloe & I went up and down the street browsing the different tables and enjoyed mangoes on sticks (a street fair must). Chloe also got a present...

I want to check out P & W this summer too. I also liked the Corona bottles and chili lights. I think I would be fine with every possible change to the decor if they could only bring back Margarita man!! mmm...they were sooo good!
CT - I don't have any suggestions your bf who obviously has some kind of taste impairment if he doesn't like PD. I could maybe understand not being a fan of the ceasar salad...and maybe even the pizza(only if they've never eaten the greek veggie pizza)...but to not like the garlic fingers!!!!!! How is that possible??? You'll have to convert him!

I miss you girls lots and lots! Talk to you soon
Lynds

CUBA FEB'07 (or anywhere hot with an all-inclusive) - OH YEAH!!! IT'LL BE THE BEST MOST BESTEST TRIP EVER!!!!!!!!

Kendra vs. Pat and Willy's - Round 3

All right ladies, so I may have told you all that Pat and Willy's had been redone and how nice the decor inside was. I know we have a very long history with that place but it had admitedly gone downhill in the past couple of years. There was of course the time we were seated behind a pole and our waitress kept forgetting about us. Then there was the adding of rice to the once wonderful veggie burrito. And who could forget the machine that replaced margarita man. So I was extremely happy with the new facelift. Enter Kendra. What the hell where are the corona bottles? Where are the chilli pepper lights? They were tacky it's much nicer in here now. Kendra responds, they're not Mexi cali rosa I liked it the old way. I pointed out how much nicer the seats were than the old vinyl that sounded like you farted every time you moved. Kendra found these to be too soft. So over comes our waiter. Kendra, "Do you still make the margaritas with that machine?" "yes" Oh forget that then. Moving on he comes back and I'm like um do you remember when the veggie burritos had veggies in them and not rice and they were good? Can you still make them that way? No he says. Kendra orders, I'll have the chicken burrito with no rice in it. Waiter responds no we can't make them that way they're pre-made. Oh that's why they're so bad responds Kendra. We get our quesidillas which were I will admit just fair and that was the end of that. Walking out we saw Marcel leaving the gym and told him and he said the margaritas tasted the exact same. Obviously Kendra did not agree. Anyway so that was our excitement. Anyone else have any excitement or suggestions on my PD predicament>

What a Predicament...

Very understandable Ms. Tessier I would definatly have a quandry with that one. What is going to be next, the frosty treat?? Maybe you can make him change his mind, although I have said on multiple occassions that PD in the dish has the best ceaser salad around??!! WOW

So ... I really think that this trip idea is great. If we plan it far enough in advance everyone will be able to get time off of work. This a trip to simply relax and have a blast, no worries , no stresses just pure fun..Now who wouldn't love a week of that??? I think I owe it to myself, and so do you ladies! :) Think about it...

Well I got a new entertainment center today. I'm pretty excited about it, Audrey's husband came over today and dropped it off. I bought it off of some guy(his family took the money of course...I'm not riping off the dementia patients) going into a nursing home so he couldn't take it with him. I got it for $35 and I saw it at Canadian tire for $169!! yea deal for me!! Now I realize how small my tv is !! hahaha oh well. I hope you all had a great weekend.

P.S. And Carolyn something to add on the whole cougar thing. Sean said something to me once that I love, and stick to these days when I feel that way out at the bar. We aren't old enough to be cougars just yet...when you turn 25 your a puma!! And they are still really cute!! :) (he even got me a shirt that said puma on it for my bday!! hahah) so keep that in mind.

Love ya
Pam

Houston we have a problem!!

Stop the presses, hold your horses, arretez!! Today in deciding where my darling boy toy and I were going to have lunch a serious issue arose... It's the most disastrous, unimaginable predicament ever. I had a craving for PD. I'd mentioned it around 10 am and when 2 o'clock rolled around and he was still debating where he'd like to go for lunch I knew we must have a PD problem. And I'm not just saying PD in the jail, it's a full fledged PD in the corn, PD in the dish, PD in general problem. I kept trying to get out of him where he would get pizza from if he was ordering pizza and couldn't get an answer. Finally we settled on going to PD but he wasn't getting pizza. Now get this! He doesn't like their garlic fingers either! And he thinks that their ceasar salad is just fair! It's catastrophic I tell you. Over lunch I told him the inevitable. If he didn't like PD I didn't think our relationship could continue if he didn't like pizza delight. He said that wasn't a valid break-up reason and is not accepting it. Imagine that! It's perfectly valid for me. Anyway last night Kendra and I ended up going to Peakes with one of our friends Erin. We went super early and got our spot in cougar corner on the dance floor and danced up a storm. We didn't even have to worry about the hockey game because Howie was watching it and coming back regularly to update us. Of course we left the bar at like 1 am. The only other person leaving was Angus and his girlfriend and as Angus said. You guys were the only people I knew in the whole bar. It's time to face it girls. We have officially become cougars. I believe I drank to that last night and possibly cheered the bouncer on that note. Oh good time. Anyway at home spending father's day with the pops. Hope everyone is well, talk to you later.

Coming Home ...

So I just decided that I was going to go to my cousins wedding on the 28th of July. I'm also going to get my hair CUT on the 29. Jen wants me to keep growing it and its killing me, this is the longest its ever been!!! Either way, I'm doing some cutting (it will be the weekend after Jen's wedding) . So that means I'll be home July 8 (no one is home then), July 28, and then in Aug. 11/12. I still don't know what to do about the whole Katie coming to Halifax, Beth mentioned that maybe she and her would take a drive over to PEI for a night or something. I'm not going to stress about it now but I don't know what to do, any ideas what to say?? Just found out that the week i'm taking off in Aut. so is Audrey (supervisor) and Victoria is coming back off her mat. leave, which means she'll be there by herself!! opps! Oh well. Well I better get back to the studies. Talk to you all later, hope your having a good weekend, let me know if you want me to try and get tickets for the concert!

Delivery

Well girls, I delivered my first baby last night...no doctor (except for the father of the unborn child, who is a paeds resident), just me and the nurse that coached me through the delivery...I'm glad it happened while I was still on my orientation, because it happens probably about once a day that the nurse delivers the baby....it was a total rush...scary, but great...

so that's my news for now, I'm home at the moment and I'll be here til wed...the weather is great, and I hope that it keeps up!!

Chicks are coming to town

Well I just got off the phone with Rebecca and she told me some fun news!! The Dixie Chicks are coming to Halifax, when?? Aug.8 my birthday!!! :) I'm letting you all know in case you may want to come over and see it, it will be at the metero center and tickets go on sale next saturday, althought I don't know how much yet. It will be a fun concert, I haven't gone to a big one in a while but it should be good, I hope we can get tickets. Anyway let me know if you want to come. I'm working on my power point presentation now for the proposal, 1 week today!! ahhhh
Thats it from me I'll be very happy (at least I hope so) this time next week!
Talk to you later , love you lots

Come on ladies!!

I know that no one thinks they have anything exciting going on in their lives but just hearing what you all had for supper would keep me half interested. At least then I'd know something about you. Yes that's right the summer is fast approaching along with the one year anniversary since the reunion to end all reunions. So naturally I'm getting quite nostalgic. I have the whole summer free and I know I'll fill it with stuff and of course you ladies will be here in August but it's just weird you know. Drove out past the boardwalk on Saturday and it was like wont be coming out here with the girls until August. Which of course means that August has to be the most ridiculously bestest best August ever! Oh that's right Kendra we are totally starting that again. All right ladies that's all I've got. I'm thinking my closet needs a good cleaning and then I've got to pick up a cake for June's b-day.
Thinking of all of you,
CT

August won't be so "gentle"

Ok Ladies....lets get this August vaction a bumpin'!! Carolyn I would really like to go to Canada Rocks, I've never been and would like to, is it playing when I"m home? If so I would really like to go. I'm down with pretty much everything on your list of doing, PD, The Beach, Frosty treat (which I now know why it tastes so good...they don't add anything to their soft serve ice cream where a lot of companies add water...), Peakes (day time and night time) and I'd really like to have a bonfire...any takers? And I'm always up for the Anne Tour.
I'm really struggling with something though, my friend Katie is coming down here to Halifax (now living in NFLD) on the Wednesday that I will be home. She is going to be here till Friday and then going to a concert in Moncton that weekend. I don't konw if I cut my trip short to come and see her for 1 day or what? I would hope that I would see her and probably would be I would be afraid I would see her for a couple hours of that day and I would hate to cut my trip short. I know it sounds like I already know what I want to do (stay on PEI) but I'm not sure how to tell her that. I already said I had my vaction book and I was going home...I'll figure something out.
Anyway, I'm really excited to come home, I hope its nice out though.

Can't wait to see everyone!
Pam
PS oh yea there is this new station here (and everywhere I imagine) called tvtropolsis and they are showing repeats of 90210!!! I'm pretty excited about it! :)

Beer Festival

Hi everyone. I'd like to introduce you to the new man in my life. We met at the Beer Fest in Montreal and I hope that we'll live a long and happy life together. Actually, this pic was a 'favor' to him. He decided since Lynds and Julie wanted a pic with him and he did them a favor by letting them take it, then I should do him a favor and be in a pic with him. It was definitely an entertaining situation to say the least. Talk to you soon.

Summer Time

Hi ladies,

I believe the exact schedule of arrivals is as follows:
  • Marla - August 3
  • MC - August 4
  • Amanda - very early August 5
  • KB - sorry I don't know exactly when you'll be home, but hopefully sometime around there
  • Pegs - August 5
  • Lynds - August 7
  • Pam - from what I remember, it's the next weekend

I arrive at midnight on the 4th, so I'll be raring to go on Saturday. Now I will provide a list of the things I'd like to do and places I'd like to go while I'm home (these appear in no particular order):

  • Brackley (to the right where all the cool kids are)
  • PD in the Dish
  • China Garden
  • Peakes
  • Jack's Pizza
  • Danny's
  • CT's
  • Marla's pool (she's offered to have pool parties every day!)

For some reason, these are the only places/things that I can think of at the moment. You will notice, however, that the majority of them revolve around food and/or drinking. This year we will definitely have to follow through on the liquor filled Nalgenes at the beach. CT, I think we should go back up to East Point to have those mussels that we never got like 2 years ago. I think that's all I've got for now.

For anyone who's interested, Nick Holland and Candice had their baby yesterday. He weighed in at 9 pounds, 2.2 ounces. Big baby considering how tiny his mom is. Still don't know his name, but I'm looking forward to shopping. He's going to be lucky growing up with about 10 honorary uncles to play with. Can't wait to see him too when I get home.

Alright, I'm out. Miss you all.

MC

PS - Lynds, I'll post the beer fest pic when I get home, and I learned this morning that my "care package" is in the mail and on its way from Australia. More on that when it arrives.

Summer plans

Hello there ladies,
Well it looks like I am finally getting everyone's dates. Marla, Amanda, MC and Kendra all arrive home within 2 days of each other. I believe Aug 3-5. I was wondering for those of you who will be home was anyone interested in seeing Canada Rocks? Lyndsay and I went last year and went out to dinner first on Victoria Row and it was just such a nice fun evening out. The tickets are somewhat pricey but we're all working women. If any of you are interested let me know and I will get the tickets. Of course if you opted for Anne of Green Gables instead I'd be ok with that too ;) Actually no it's all new actors and who knows what it will be like this year. Instead mom and I are going to go see Anne and Gilbert. Also this is fun. I was looking at the Canada Day free concert website and Lennie Gallant is on at 8 followed by Joel Plaskett and the fireworks so I definitely want to be down there for that. Also in the afternoon is Elephant Rock. I was like whos that so checked their bio. It's Ian Toms, Dick Knox and John Connolly. John and Richard were both in Beauty and the beast, one was Gaston and the other was Maurice. And of course Ian needs no intro. I was talking to him like a month ago and he told me they were getting a band going so this is them. They're around 2 or so. Foxy you're going to be here right? We can make a day of it going from my apt to the park as parking does get kind of crazy. Of course we'll have to bring June to Lennie as she is biggest fan ever! All right that's all I've got. This weekend is predicting rain which is no fun.
Love you all lots and miss you more,
CT
If anyone has other suggestions of what they want to do when you guys are home let me know. Everyday will be Destinations PEI! And I definitely am craving PD in the dish!

...Ahh memories of my grade 12 locker. good times, good times.
MC and I had some bad luck today...our concert was cancelled! Luckily we found out before MC took the train here for nothing. The singer is apparently too sick to play. :'( We were pretty disappointed, especially since the concert isn't being rebooked but they're planning to come back in October.
We had a fun weekend for beerfest even with the rain. MC, Peggy & Hugh arrived Saturday afternoon to partake in the festivities. There was a huge group of us which included Julie, her boyfriend Aaron, her friend, Darcy, Matt Allas, upstairs Matt, & D's friend Mike. (It was Matt A.'s last night visiting Darcy and he had just written his CFA test.) We even ran into John Flood. We were at the beer festival for about 5 hours so, as you can imagine, we had many many samples of beer. I recommend Boris cool if you ever see it in the liquor store...like 7up with a kick. Also Rickard's white was very good. One highlight of the night was when a guy dressed in highland attire tried to pick up MC. Maybe MC will post his pic :) After most of our coupons were gone we headed out for pizza and ended up losing some of the group in the process. Unfortunately the O-town gang had to head back early Sunday am. (Michelle, Chloe was sad not to have you back to visit tonight.) You'll have to come back to visit soon!
Kendra - glad to hear you're new job is going well! Pam - good luck with your proposal...sorry about the phone tag. CT - when are you going to Ottawa???
Miss you lots!!

Love, Lynds

Out on the town

Hello ladies,
MC, Pegs and Lynds I hope you guys are having an excellent time in Montreal. Wish I was there with you. As for me, last night Lynn and I decided to head out on the town. There was a ufit party at Jakes at 8 and that was the plan. Although with Lynn and I things never go according to plan. We went to the Gahan for supper and a couple of electric ice teas. We got the brownie desert to split because we both love it and of course Lynn ends up with it on her white skirt. So back to my place we go with a quick stop at the liquor store. We both decided to try something new. Bad idea... So over the course of the night I had two electric ice teas, 1 of those new bacardi ice tea breezers (so gross other 3 are in the fridge) 1.5 purple revs went to the bar and added two slings and two shots of baja and a beer to that mix. Not many people I knew out, these two guys came and sat with us. It was Jen Hogan's little brother and friend. Basically it was a good night out at the old Peakes but nothing really significant happened. Left around 1:30 because it was kind of getting old.
Anyway talk to you all later,
CT
