Storytime

Seeing as the poor blog is feeling so neglected I thought it was time for a story. It's 5:30 and I've just spent the day marvelling at how beautiful this Island really is. Of course I was at Daytime Myrons and the scenery wasn't the only beauty if you know what I'm saying... All right now that I've broken the ice the question is which story to give. Let me tell you some things I learned about the bathrooms in Europe. 1. Bathrooms are not free, in fact the first rest stop we arrived at we had no money and had to pee and actually had to take money out of the bank maching (Lynds did I couldn't get mine to work) buy something in the store to break the 50 and then Lynds had to spot me 50 cents in order for me to pee as well. 2. Toilet seats are a priveledge. That's right at first I thought someone had stolen the toilet seat from my toilet. Turns out no they hadn't that they just don't use toilet seats. Picture it like doing squats, so good for the thighs. 3. A simple handle to flush the toilet is too easy. That's right I saw buttons, I had one in Italy that just flushed every 30 seconds whether it needed to or not, almost threw off my balance as I squated and if I'd fallen I would have gone right in seeing as there was no toilet seat. In fact our first one in London it took Lynds and I a good 5 minutes to figure out you had to turn the handle first one way and then the other in order to flush. 4. There's no better way to scare the crap out of yourself than by having pink or purple toilet paper. I found it so everytime I'd be like ah what's that oh right it's the colour of the toilet paper. So that's just a taste of some of the culture shock we received while we were over there. I'm afraid I can't write anymore right now as I'm absolutely in need of food. 5 hours at the beach on an empty stomach not a good idea, don't recommend it.
Love you girls,
CT

This Italian singer absolutely loved Lyndsay to the point he pulled up a chair beside her and sang to her. Posted by Picasa

Drinking Schnapps in Austria. Somewhere there's a video of Lynds and I trying them the first time. Still burns to think about it. Posted by Picasa

Back on the Island

Hello Ladies,
Yes Lynds and I are alive and had an absolutely marvelous time in Europe. We didn't really get a chance to email anyone because it was so hard to find a computer that worked anywhere. Thanks for emailing us anyway MC it's nice to know that you were thinking about us while we were gone. We left Paris yesterday morning at 12:55 am France time and we arrived at home at midnight our time last night i.e. 5 am France time. So needless to say were going to be messed for a couple of days. Still Paris was absolutely amazing, we got to watch the sun set from the top of the Eiffel tower and we got to see it sparkle because it lights up and flashes every hour after dark. We had fun in Rome too but it was unbelievably hot and we were pretty scared because the theft there is ridiculous. There are a lot of stories, far too many to get into right now but I will pull a Michelle and go a little picture happy.
Love,
CT

5 day weekends aren't as good as you'd think

Hey ladies,

How is everyone doing? I've noticed the blog was totally ignored while we were all at home. I guess we didn't need to post when we saw each other everyday. Well, what sorts of exciting stories do I have for you today? None really. I'm on day 4 of my first 5 day weekend. Kind of bored actually. Got up at noon, then went out for a walk this afternoon to Kensington Market which is kind of like the Market in Ottawa, but much dirtier. It's not too appealing to buy fruits and vegetables from a place where it smells like raw sewage, so I didn't actually get anything. On the way back here I saw the guy who plays Tommy on Instant Star on CTV. Probably not exciting to most, but I actually like the show and he's really hot, so I was happy. Then on my way in the building, I finally ran into Mr. Billy Hennessy. Good times. We chatted for a bit, he told me about his amazing weekend and how he was at the office until 2am on Thursday. Invited me to this club they've got booked out for next Friday. Sounds like a lot of fun, but I couldn't bring myself to tell him I'll be at an Avril concert, and I've got no one to go with me to his party even if I wanted to. :( so sad. Went out in TO for the first time last night with the other white girls from my class. It was pretty fun, but as always, the pre-drinking was more fun than actually going out. The mission was to pick up guys for me and Lauryn, but things didn't quite work out. Shocking, I know. So, that's my story. Hope you all had great weekends, and CT and Lynds, how you check this out once in awhile while you're in Europe. Talk to you all later.

New Baby Soon

Hey there! Well I'm heading to the Ching's for the night tonight. Janice went into the hopsital this am, and is going back tomorrow 9am. So I'm going out there tonight to help with the kids. She said that they are going to be putting her on the drip so she could be in there for a couple of days before having the baby, but they are going to do this and see if it starts anything. I'm so excited. I think that she will have a girl but who knows....it would be nice if Caleb would have a little brother to play with too. My cousin Kate is working on the same floor this weekend so that will be fun too...wonder if Kendra will be around. Anyways stay tuned for an update! Talk to you all soon
