Halloween in Montreal

This doesn't want to work, so bear with the alignment of the pictures...

So, it seems it's up to me to revive the blog again. I was trying not to be the next one to post since I was the last, but you've all given me no choice in the matter. This past weekend I went down to Montreal to visit with the Lynds and to attend McGill's finest Halloween festivities. Needles to say a good time was had by all. Enjoy the pics and I hope I've inspired at least one of you to put up a post of your own...that is if anyone even remembers that there is a blog. : )

Ho Hum...

Hi all. Just thought I would kill a little time with a posting. Life is busy here on the west end of the country. I just finished a big fashion show (as an organizer, not model!) so I have been working around the clock. Speaking of modelling, I was approached last week by a woman who asked me 20 questions about who I am and what I do... turns out she was interested in hiring me to be a model for her clothing store ads... I laughed and graciously declined... can you imagine? Must have been a plus size store! haha Well, I have been on a cleanse for the past 10 days, so I am anxious to start eating food again.. although it shed about 12 pounds quickly enough... (all that excess vacation weight!) and I am feeling strangely perky and healthy because of it. I was just looking on Westjet at flights for December... cheaper than I thought. I had a vision today about how much fun it would be to surprise my family on Chistmas Eve. I don't know... we'll have to wait to see how the finances are. Anyone want to start a charity? haha August was a blast, but went by way too quickly. Oh Michelle, can you email me the pics from the cd? It can't get it to work. Haven't heard from Amanda in 2 weeks, so I hope she is well (if you are reading this, you'd better write me!). Well, this is getting long... I am blabbing on here. Hope everyone is well. When I have something interesting to say, I will post again... Oh, did nayone watch"Men in Trees" last night? Chris's cousin is the guy with the rugged good looks and curly hair. About as close to Hollywood as I might get... Bye for now!

Not much at this end

Michelle, I love the name Stella...your kitty is so cute!! and Lynds so is Chole, don't worry I didn't forget about her. So I don't really have much to say I just got up and I really don't want to read my article that I have to for tomorrow. I wanted to ask Lynds...did the brownie dress fit? I was in the GAP last night and they didn't have any of the brown socks left so its a good thing you got them when youd did. I don't know what I'm going to be yet...we were thinking about everyone dressing up from an era 40, 50 ,60, 70, 80, 90's I have the stuff for the flapper dance and stuff for the 80s chic!
Anyway I better get going I'll talk to you later

Meet my New Friend : )

Hello everyone,

Here's my new kitty!!! I brought her home from the Humane Society yesterday and so far so good :) She's pretty cute. Fluffy and has more energy than I can keep up with. She's taken to climbing me like a tree and with her super sharp claws, it's not so much fun. First thing I'm doing after work tomorrow is buying a nail clipper! She's good though. So far, very affectionate and playful. Her back legs are a little freaky...they hardly have any fur and she walks on the whole bottom part of her leg instead of just her foot. I'll have to get a picture of it to explain better. I think that she must be some weird sort of breed. It's quite odd. Anyway, she's still without a name, so if you think of any, let me know.

Here's a list of suggestions so far...

  • Nikki
  • Daisy
  • Fresca
  • Shiraz
  • J Lo
  • Tyrone
  • Stella

Bren thinks I should name her after a famous panda, but they've all got names like Ling Ling. Probably not, so if you have a suggestion, please leave a comment. She needs a name :) Thanks. Miss you all lots.

Love,

MC

More Peas Please!

That's right ladies, last weekend the Black Eyed Peas invaded C-town. Well Kendra and I decided that despite the gate opening at 12:30 we would head to the concert grounds around 5 - 5:30. Probably a good idea. It was a very hot day and we could hear the music from my house anyway. When we got there people were set up everywhere with their blankets etc. it looked like a family picnic not a rock concert. We sat down and everyone around us was eating PD pizza and we decided to get in on that action. Watched the Philosopher Kings before I had to brave the port-a-potty. What a time to be without your purel. So anyway after the Philosopher Kings we decided a beer was in order so we headed to the tent in time for the Pussy Cat dolls. I thought they weren't nearly as inappropriate as they could have been. In fact they did all have most private areas covered. Could have been because we were so far back we couldn't really see them just hear them and see the 3 dancing up on the catwalk. Talked to a few people in the beer tent but really didn't see many people we knew, probably because there were so many people there. For the Peas Foxy and I decided to head her up to the front because there was only two of us. We actually managed to get pretty close. The only issue was that on one side of us was a little girl with her mom and on the other side was the most obnoxious drunk guy I've ever seen. They were so awesome and they played for a really long time. During Where is the Love they told everybody to take out their cellphones and turn the light on and wave them in the air. It was pretty cool looking. The only real complaint on my end was when the obnoxious drunk guy pulled down his fly, whipped it out and started peeing. His friend was like dude and basically grabbed it and aimed. Kendra and I kinda freaked when we started getting splashed. I mean who does that, I was terrified he was going to puke on me. Still overall an amazing concert and apparently it brought in like 2 million to the city because there were so many people staying in hotels and eating etc. All right hope everyone is doing well, it's been a somewhat crazy week for me but hey I enjoy a challenge. Looking forward to seeing pics of Stella MC.

A Note From Me...

Well I finally figured out how to get back into the Blog, for some reason my cmp wouldn't let me sign in but I have now and its all good! :)
I as well had an excellent summer. I have been trying to creat the picture CDs for everyone but the last couple I burned something happened and they didn't turn out. I will keep trying but in the mean time I'm getting lots of coasters!
So our trip away is starting to get underway.... I'm think as well as the rest of you are I imagine that buying the tickets around xmas time would save us some money, not to mention then Kendra can definatley get the time off or at least ask for it ...right Kendra?? (wink wink). I'm getting so exicted I can hardly contain myself.
So everything here is going well I guess, the kiddies start back to school tomorrow, I can hardly believe that the summer is finished. so sad.
Well ladies I hope to hear from you all soon, I'm off to start up the BBQ!
Love ya all

Sniff...sniff...I miss summer

Hi girls,
Just a quick post to let you know I made it back to Montreal. I brought way too many things home with me this summer so I have lots of unpacking to do! Mom and Dad are here until tomorrow afternoon. If the weather stays nice this afternoon we're going to go to the botanical gardens.
I miss you girls already! I had such a great time at home...I feel like I was home for the whole summer! Luckily I have lots of pics to remind me of our good times! I'll make my pic cds soon so we can start sharing the love. :) CT and I had the perfect afternoon at Greenwich on my last day home. I've included a couple of pics for everyone to enjoy. Pretend you're lying on the beach with your eyes closed listening to the waves. Oh Daryl.

Lots of love, Lynds

What happens in Greenwich stays in Greenwich!

Actually no it doesn't, I'm not one to keep things under my hat. So there was Lyndsay and I on the beautiful sandy beach of Greenwich. We went out in the water despite the late date and stood out there until we turned blue. Didn't actually go under but went out to our waists. Next we came out and you know that fresh shaved stingy feeling. We both had that going on and decided it was time to hike back to the car. Well we decided we didn't want to hike back in our wet bathing suits. So I put on my shirt and slipped on my bra and off my top etc. Next we were like how are we going to change out bottoms. Lynds didn't have any panties so she decided to go commando. Smart of her, for some reason when packing my backpack I'd packed a thong. So there I was with my towel wrapped around me trying to hold it and pull up my thong. Well the towel did slip a little. The Lynds saw my ass but I think the kids next to us saw the front. Don't scream they were way down the beach but I'm sure they were watching Lynds and I because we were entertaining with those towels wrapped around us trying to get dressed. Ah good times. Went to Fishbones last night with Lynds and Angela and that's a wrap on the summer. I have to work in the morning. Then the concert this weekend with Kendra then it's fall season!! All right hope that fills your story gap for awhile. Hope everyone is thinking of questions for Christmas. I bought a laminator the other day for $15 at Walmart so we can even keep the ones we like.

Somewhat settled in Scotland

May I say again that it was great to see everyone while I was home. Hope to do it next summer.
Woody and I are safe and sound in Scotland. Surrounded by great sea air and good pints of beer. We are in the small town of Oban as we decided to get out of the city to work. We got a job on Monday at a hotel just outside the town. For the last few days we have been enjoying the area. Hikes to the ruins of a castle, picnics on the Isle of Mull, and many pints at the pub with some great locals! We are planning on woking for the winter months and saving money. Accomodation is included so we should have enough saved up to go nuts in Europe for awhile!
When we get totally settled I will write more and try and send pics.
Hope all is well in Canada!

Love, Amanda

I just can't seem to keep my clothes on

Do you guys remember when I used to do silly and embarassing things? I know what you're thinking, thank goodness you outgrew that phase! Well apparently not. Listen to all that went on with me this weekend and week. Sunday morning I had planned to go to church with Allyn. That was fine I put on a cute little shirt (the white one with the pink embroidery) and a pink skirt. Off we went to church. Now in Kensington after church you head out to eat. We chose the Country Oven but it was too crowded so we were heading to Summerside when we spotted Bakin Donuts. Thought we'd give it a try. Had a beautiful breakfast sandwich and headed to the washroom. Then it was time to go. Some man in a cowboy hat gave me a funny kind of nod, I smiled and we drove back to the farm. Got out of the car and reached to scratch my leg. Funny my leg was exposed. Oh my dear heaven! My skirt was totally tucked in to my underwear! Can you believe it?? Don't answer that if you value your life!! So that brings us to today. The Lynds and I decided to head to Greenwich for a beautiful hike followed by some relaxing time at the beach. All right this will have to be finished later, heading out with my mom.

Back to O-Town

I just wanted to let everyone know that I made it back here alive. I think it was a close call though...in Montreal we had the worst descent I've ever experienced on a plane. So much turbulence, but the actual landing was perfect. I was a little worried for a minute, but I survived. The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful.

I'll post some pics when I get home tonight. I forgot to charge the batteries on the camera last night, so I couldn't get anything off of it.

Everyone should email their address so that I can send them all the pics. I realized that I took like 130, so there's bound to be one or two good ones. Not to mention the videos ;)

I miss you all already and I wish I was back there in PEI with you getting ready for the beach instead of sitting at my desk catching up on emails and paperwork. Can't wait to do it again next year :D

And don't forget...I'll be home December 22 @ 12:35. Only a short 17 or so weeks.

Miss you lots.

Love,
MC

sister stranger

I have arrived safely in Grande Prarie. Staying with my brother Allan and his family. My other brother Shawn came to pick me up at the airport and didn't even recognize me! It was quite funny. It has been about 3-4 years since I have seen them. It's very interesting to be on a totally different level with them now that I am older and able to understand who they are and what they do. They work in the oil fields and Allan and his business partner have invented an object that helps detect when there is a "washout": sour gas coming up before it happens. It will save lives and they are going to do well.
I am glad that I came here and glad that I have developed a relationship with them again. The kids have grown up so much!
I am so excited to get to PEI and see you all agian. Woody wishes that he could come meet you all, but I have lots of photos and you will get to meet his someday....
See you all On Saturday (Aug 5th). Hope you all have arrived safely!
Love, Amanda

Can I get a woop woop!

Well ladies, looks like everyone is set and ready for a great time in August! Glad to hear everyone is doing so well. As for myself, I am super-excited to get home and get the party started! I get home the evening of August 3... so I will be ready to go Friday night for whomever is up for it (CT maybe? Hmmm?? haha) Oh, by the way, as some of you might know, I carry a jewelry line from New York that I distribute here in Calgary. I am thinking about taking some of it home with me, and I am wondering who might be up for a little jewelry party? We can talk about it when I get home though... Anyways, just wanted to check in and say this is going to be one hell of a good summer! See you soon girlies!

stories are better and quicker in person

Hey there everyone! Do you ever have so much to write that you just don't want to write? Well first of all, Lyndsay I am still serious about going on the trip!! And Congrats on getting all that money, i'm sure it will really help out a lot :)
Now as for the wedding!!! It went over really well and I'll bring home pictures to show you and I'll tell you more stories later and in person b/c they will be better that way. They got married at Niagria on the Lake in a little chapel then had the dinner etc. at the Hilton that just opened up a few months prior, actually it was the first wedding they held. Everything was so nice and Jenn was so pretty. I want to write more but the stories are much better to be told in person. I'm posting a picture I thought was really nice that I took.

PS I got a new research job at MSVU and quit my rec. coordinator position today (gave 2 weeks). In the interview I had mentioned I wanted that week off in Aug. and I still got it so yea yea!!

Talk to you all soon!

Love
Pam

My news!!

I just got some exciting news yesterday. I've been awarded a FERASI fellowship for the upcoming year!! (FERASI is a big organization dedicated to nursing administration research.) I'm so excited!! My friend David also got one so we're going out for celebratory drinks Monday night. (Julie (and some other classmates) also applied for one but I don't know yet if she got one. She's off learning French right now.) I'll be setting aside some money to fund my trip to a tropical destination so I hope you're serious about going!!!
Darcy was in Montreal this week. He had to write his American boards exam Monday and just left tonight. Tuesday night we went to see Dimitri Martin who was here for the Just for Laughs festival. He was hilarious! Yesterday we did some shopping for his new nephew (Jonas Lee - 8 lbs 14 oz) and later went for drinks with some of D's friends. I also found a Madonna t-shirt like one on her website - which was obviously very exciting for me. :) We went out for dinner at a BYOW place tonight to celebrate my scholarship tonight before he left. Matt arrives back in MTL soon because the meds start back to school Monday. Then MC is coming next Friday!! Yippee!!!!! I'm very excited for your visit - I have lots of plans! (Don't worry - movies and brownies will be scheduled in too!!!) A little over 2 weeks until I arrive in PEI!! Summer in Montreal has been fun but it's not the same as PEI!! I plan to go to the beach as much as possible. Anyone know if you can fix bathing suits once the elastic dies? I don't understand what happened to my fav bathing suit...damn Old Navy.
Miss you lots.
Love, Lynds

No more suspense

Sorry MC I have been trying to get ahold of you for awhile, suppose you are busy doing that thing some like to call a career! :)
I am just heading into my last week of work and jumping for joy!!!
Next week will be relaxing. I am heading to the Okanagan to meet my new boyfriends' parents (met his dad already when he was in town for a drumming circle)......
New boyfriend.... His name is Woody (parents are hippies, guess his middle name and you win a prize). We met on the bus when I was coming home from work. Everything in this relationship is forming so easily. I am in love. I wanted to tell you all in person however I don't want to leave you in suspense anymore than I have to. I have never said, "I love you" to anyone before this. Sure I have been excited and abit overdramatic with some of my past "likes", however this one is different. I just know it. We are in for a long-haul.
I will still be arriving on PEI as planned August 5th but plans after that have changed a little. I am now staying on PEI until the end of October when I am then flying to Glasgow, Scotland and to Woody who is meeting me there. He is staying here in Vancovuer until his brother (whom he lives with now) finds a place to live and until he can get all the rest of his affairs in order. He ironicaly recievied his British Passport 2 weeks after we met.
I have finally met someone real. Someone who is willing to travel and has an amazing zest for life and actually nice.
I'll leave the rest of the details for when we meet. I am so happy!

Peace, Amanda

Leaving Tomorrow...

Well tomorrow I head to Ontario for the big wedding, it will be a quick trip casue I come back on Sunday afternoon. I wish that I was staying longer :(... oh well. I'm really pumped up for the reunion too, i'm trying not to think about it too much cause I kinda think maybe that was part of last year's problem, too high of an expectation!? I don't know, either way I'm still excited. There "might" be a problem with me coming home (if I get a new job) but I"m letting them know in the interview that I had vaction booked off that week. Let's keep our fingers crossed that a. i get the job and b. get the time off! :) hahaha Don't worry about it though I'm not going to miss out this week for anything in the world!
Well I haven't packed or anything so I should get going and get some stuff done. Have fun visiting Lyndsay Michelle, when do you go? ....

Love y'all!
Peace
P.
