Why me?

Hello ladies! Well as you can tell by my title my week-end sure wasn't all it was cracked up to be. It started on Friday afternoon when I was trying to rehears our spring play with my class. This woman came to the door and was like are you Carolyn? I said yes and she gives me this ginormous bouquet of flowers. If one of you says ahh I will not be impressed. As most of you know I detest flowers and I was absolutely mortified and my class lost all control. The principal came to the door laughing her head off and said everyone at the office wanted to know who they were from. I told my students they were from one of my skating students. Works for me. Then went to the rink where most of my skaters were skating not too bad for the day before tests. Go to the rink Saturday morning at 8 am and warm up my first 3 girls. First one goes and does all right but understandably not a pass. Next one goes and again does all right when the freaking power goes off. We spent the morning sitting outside the rink playing with the canskate toys and waiting for the power to come back on. Eventually the judges had to leave and go home so basically we got nothing accomplished. Now my kids will be judged by the judge I totally didn't want them to have. I'm telling you couldn't have gone any worse if they had all failed.
Hope you ladies had better weekends and Foxy, Lynds and Pam I had so much fun having you guys around.

Am I the only one on here?

Hey ladies, well thanks for the ring last night!! I was wishing I was there for the opening of Peakes and well not in bed!! haha Anyway Carolyn, just wanted to let you know that I'm going home on the weekend of July 8. I have a hair appointment that Saturday and I think we are going to have a wedding shower for my cousin who is gettine married at the end of that month. I figure I'd get my hair done in ctown casue they actually do a good job compared to the crap hair stylist I have been to over here. I'm sure there are good one's here to but I haven't found one yet :(
Anyway, I'm off to work early today making up for the extended weekend just past. This weekend just won't be the same I'm afraid, too much work to do! Have a great one ladies, it was so good to see you Lyndsay I hope you have a safe trip back and K. call me when you get back into the city.

This is too funny...

So I just rushed home from the gym to tell you all this. Lyndsay, the old roommate, was there this morning and had some interesting news to tell, something which she thought I would get a kick out of. Guess who just got married? The drummer from Shameless! I guess for some reason she went to their house warming party. Anyway, the funny thing is they aren't telling anyone, in fact I use to work with the girls best friend (who has since moved back to PEI). The girl or should I say wife now works at the Copper Penny (Kendra you'll understand!!) I knew her from when she worked at Fabutan. Anyways Lyndsay went on to say that they aren't even telling their families about any of this, kinda funny so I thought I would share that with you!
Kendra, Congrats on the new job I'm sure you'll do awesome. Where are you going to be in Clayton Park? I'm moving out for June 1st so i'll be busy looking for a place too, we should have an apartment warming party!!
Love y'all

How did I make it back to Halifax?

Well ladies , we had an awesome weekend and I seriously don't know how I made it back over here, for more then one reason. Well at around 3:30pm I go out to the car and realize something, the sticker on my car says 2005 (I swear I'm not usually this dense, or maybe I am??!!). Anyways I realize my car is over due since last November, so Dad had to go and take it to the Honda, they eneded up putting 2007 on it !! hahaha WOW. Then as I'm driving back to Hali I'm looking around in my car, putting music on etc. and I totally miss the exit for Halifax drive about 30 km to Cape Breton!! Iwas like this doesn't look right!! WOW so my question is How did I make it back here??It was so sad leaving, and with Nadine now going back for and me having to move AGAIN I just want to move home! Anyways I better get ready for work, another busy day in the life of seniors!!
Love y'all

Take two

The night began at CT's place. We were listening to some tunes, writing our post, and having some drinks. Carolyn found out Lyndsay is a horrible bartender. Lynds poured a double but forgot to stir the drink. So, after planning out the night we ran to the ODP. The ODP was a little slow so we went over to Gahan for some martinis. Eddie was our waiter again and after spilling a drink on us, he made our drinks extra strong. Pretty sure it was pure vodka. Then we went back to ODP to finish the night. Today, we're all lacking sleep. Good times, good times.
Love,
Lynds, Pam and CT

Big Momma's House

It started as a casual dining experience at the Gahan House, waiter Eddie. 1 round of electric ice tea to start things off and a few catch-up stories. Next came the beers and Paul's number "for a good time."

Across the street to the ODP we went. The place was dead Pam and Lynds did not believe it was the place to be on a Friday night. I asked the bouncer/zambonie driver to tell them it was. There was a table full of "15 year olds" taking pictures beside us. I being the discrete person that I am commented on them being so proud to be in the bar underage. Somehow they heard my WHISPER. So I did what any person would do and ID'd them. Turns out they were 22 year old Bluefield boys who wanted to buy us drinks. So basically we had beer, numerous shots and danced a little bit and had some fun. MC you'll be happy to see that I saw Colby and had a nice chat with him. Next up was the game plan of escape, a quick trip to the bathroom and stalls not closed!! We never accomplished coming up with a plan, so off we go.
This is where CT's part of the night ends... off in cab the other ladies go accompagnied by a couple of unknowns. When asked for directions Cornwall was the next stop Aka the BIG MOMMAS HOUSE drama begins!!!! A beer was the offer and gladly accepted off to the dungeon we go. Nothing like open ceilings, dirt, cats wondering, passed out bodies, and a computer!! Interesting conversations, mostly over MSN and of course what would a night like this be without a military boy. After a glance a taxi was soon beckoned and up the creaky, wooden stairs we go. Next up, a young man crying in the fetal position on the living room floor...Lyndsay to the rescue?...NO WAY ...in steps BIG MOMMA!! "MOVE"!!!!!!!!!! A lovely lady "Fuck, this fucking happens every fuckin' friday night" graciously welcomed us in her night dress. Nervously and not so patiently waiting at the door for our drive not so many comments were made but the mood was very obvious. The taxi finally arrives and as we RUN to our safety net we hear in the background "See you tomoorow night"

We'll keep you posted!!!

Wishing you were here,

Wish I was out with you girls...

Hey girls...hope that you all are doing well. I hope that CT, Lynds, and Pam are having a great visit. I can pretty much guarantee that MC and I wish I was there.

Things are great with me, you are all now reading a post from the IWK's newest Birth Unit RN. I found out yesterday that I got the job, and I'm really happy about it!! I start my classroom orientation on May 15th and then on the floor shortly after...eek. But it will be good, I'll be fine.

I'[m still waiting to hear if I've been accepted to the new apartment building that I want to live in. I had to practically give up my first born on the application form...but I love the apartment, so I hope that I'm suitable for the building.

Anyway, hope to hear from you all soon
