My weekend

Hi everyone,

How are things? Just wanted to give you all a little update of my weekend. As you can see from the picture below, Pegs, Hugh and I had a great time at the German Beer and Schnitzel place. Nothing says Friday night like free beer and a live accordian player. Saturday, Lyndsay and I shopped online together and got ourselves cute little pink ipod minis. They were on sale, so how could we go wrong? Saturday night I went to a party at my friend Amanda's place. For those who can't remember, I met her in Australia through JP. I had so much fun. There were I think 9 or 10 of us. Drank at Amanda's and went over to the Whiskey for some dancing. Good times. Highlight of the night was meeting a guy. He's got my number and we'll see if he calls. I hope he does, but don't want to jinx it by talking about it too much. Yesterday, despite having only had about 4 hours of sleep the night before, Pegs and I went to see Hitch. It was really good. Now today, it's work again and that's all the plans for the week really. I'm house sitting for a girl I work with from Wednesday until Friday, so if anyone wants/needs to get in touch with me, the number is (613) 715-9491. I think that's it. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Oh how I missed hostel life

Michelle you will like this one alot! Lastnight I went to the Xavier Rudd concert. It was amazing. I hope that there is someone good playing at the Commodore when you are here Michelle that place is an amazing venue. Xavier has the best aura, and his energy just fills the room and engulfs ones whole body. Then that energy is projected back onto him from the crowd. I have never felt that intune with a musician before. Truly spiritual...... There were alot of Aussies there as well! I was in heaven, for amoment I felt like I was back there, a tear fell down my face.
After the concert (I went solo so didn't have anything to do afterwards) I wandered the street around my hostel (the reason I stayed in a hostel is because I couldn't bus it back into PoCo that late, plus I missed the traveling life I just wanted a taste again) and noticed someone famillar in one of the lineups to a bar. It turned out to be one of the guys Monique, Lindsay and I met lastweekend! He was with the whole crowd and everyone was so stoked to see me! It was great we partied and danced..... I love this city! It was such an Island thing to happen :) Although we would know everyone in line not just a few people, but you get my drift.
So after we stepped outside and I said byes, looked for my hostel....... we were at it! Silly me, we were at the bar at the hostel. I missed Michelle and her directions :) Got back into my room and the roomie was sleeping. I fell asleep and was woken when my roommate got up. Still didn't see her I just rolled over and fell back "asleep". A half an hour later I was woken up by my roommate........ A 62 YEAR OLD, RUSSIAN/FRENCH CANADIAN !!!!!! She wanted to know if I wanted to go to breakfast. I had to sleep, I worked at 12:30 and still had to bus back! ARGH!!!
She asked me like 4 times for breakfast. NO THANKYOU, SLEEP PLEASE. I am too nice :(
She ended up coming back later with a slice of apple, doughnut, and teabag. She ment well and was very nice, but Russian so she was quite "weathered". She decided since I was "awake" now that she would tell me her whole life story! So Michelle all of the "weird guests" we got stuck with at our hostels were because of me! I am sure of it now. I am a magnet for strange ones! :)
That was my weekend! Gotta love traveling! Peace, Amanda
Oh yeah, I threw the apple and doughnut out when I got downstairs, after I met two nice guys from England in the hallway!

Not much to say

Hi all,

I'm so glad it's Friday. The week's gone by fairly fast, but I haven't been doing much at work, or elsewhere, so it's been fairly boring. The most exciting thing I've been doing is making plans and reservations for California. Tonight, Pegs, Hugh and I are going to the German Beer Garden and Schnitzel House for dinner. Should be interesting. Tried to no avail to get people to come with us. Jonathan's sick and apparently Jamie C. is watching his expenses till he gets a job. Tomorrow night I'm finally going to see Amanda Cockburn and go out on the town! It's about time. She and her roomie are having a party and I'm going and I think I'll be spending the night. My excitement was dampened temporarily when I discovered that JP had also been invited. However, yesterday I was given the heads up by Amanda that he might be there and also that he's been pissing off all his friends, so if he starts any shit, he's out the door. So, I'm excited again. Amanda gets a little crazy when she's on the drink, so we'll see if I can keep up. Hopefully it won't be a repeat of Jonathan's and I'll be able to keep myself away from the toilet. I'll be sure to post about all the goings on afterwards. It's almost time for me to go home, so I'll end it here. Hope everyone else had a good week.

Love,
MC

Fucking bad day

Well what can I say...I understand Carolyn, I was babysitting the kids the other day and Rebekah was so sick threw up everything though! I didn't get it at least not yet...knock on wood. Well I'm working on a paper today, no class and I don't have to work cause its spring break here. Fun but it seems like I have a tonne of work today. All the same i"m trying very hard not to have a mental break down with the roommate factor. Just got off the phone with Janice and had a melt down about it. I told her I wanted to go home, but I'd be afraid I'd never return back to Halifax if I did!! Never thought I would dream about moving back in with my parents but at this point I can't think of anything better. This is kinda a downer blogg but hey it doesn't seem like many are writing on this so who knows if anyones reading it and its a good way to vent I guess! Oh well life sucks....I'm pmsing ....i'm stressed...work sucks....just a fucking bad day overall ...I think i'll hit the mall. talk to you later PS I love y'all

They're dropping like flies

Can we say flu season? Thank God it's not a sick to your stomach flu it's a fever and headache flu. One of the kids was convulsing he was so cold on Monday and when I felt his head I was like oh shit. Since then it's become a bit of an epidemic. There's one in here with me right now sniffing away with chest pains and so far today I've sent 2 home. Just praying that I don't get it if you know what I mean. Actually think I had it last week because I had a fever and headache and my neck was killing me so I skipped ufit. But other than that it didn't affect me too much. All right better get going the bell is going to ring in a few minutes and then we're off to music. Have fun on your break Lynds I wish I could bethere.

another one bites the dust

My love life leads me on a path...... a path of distruction. Not for myself, but for the actual relationship.
I recently met this amazing guy named Ryan. He lives just around the corner in the next town. We talked for 3 weeks straight and for hours at a time. We were planning what we were going to do this summer, he wanted to come to PEI and meet everyone....... the future looked unreal. We met on Friday and went for Gelato and then took his dog Toby (cutest dog ever, and I'm not one for dogs) out to this beautiful lake for a walk. We had a great time! There was only one thing wrong..... Ryan left today :( The business he works for sends him around North America to open and start the new businesses. Which means he is gone for months at a time.....
Seriously, either I am the one leaving, he is leaving, or we both leave and we live in completely different countries!!!!!! I just don't get it!!!!
Well I suppose I should get used to it, and take my own advice... "Never get your hopes up" , when it comes to guys atleast.

Spring Break

This has been my first non-hungover day of Spring break. woo hoo! Friday night I went out with friends from my class until 4:30am. We had a lot of fun. I'm in love with Kamikaze shots...vodka and triple sec. Then Saturday Darcy's sisters arrived. Luckily we spent the day napping because they were also tired from the trip. Then we went out Saturday night to Chuch which is a Thai vegetarian restaurant that is bring your own wine. Then went to Heather's friend's house and played Kings (like 3man except with cards) for most of the night. The rest of the week I think we're going to shop, be touristy and do some more drinking. Tomorrow night we're going to a bar that has an 80's night which should be fun. We found some glow-in-the-dark earrings (like the glowsticks) at a huge dollar store. I'll have to bring some home in the summer. They'd be fun at Peake's.

Apartment on FIRE!

So I wake up this morning at like 8:30 am...to hear nothing but fire engines and loud noises etc. I didn't think anything of it because lets face it its Halifax and I live pretty much in ghetto! Anyways around 10am Lindsay was going to the gym and called me from there. I guess the apartment building right behind the gym was on fire, and I mean a blaze! I went outside and the whole roof was nothing but flames, I felt so bad. All the people outside watching and fire engines everywhere! The gym was eventually closed b/c the power went out and so did our apartment building (in case you don't know where this is, its across the street from me). So anyways this was around 1030-11 am that I went outside to look. Sean and I came back after our Sunday drive at around 6:00pm the place was still in flames, the whole sky is black its such a sin. I feel so bad cause there is nothing we can do. I have to see if it is on the news, and I only hope that nothing like that happens to our place.
I was out on sat. and saw Rod Hood at the mall...."most awkard situation of the year" we both saw each other so we couldn't walk away, so I said hi, what youa re you up to...I knew he was here to see Kim so I didn't ask what he was doing here. I asked him how he was and what he was doing on PEI now. Then I was like I gotta get out of here, I felt like my heart was in the throat the whole time and I knew he did too cause he was red. Anyways...thats life. I 'm home now making some chilli hope it turns out , first time. you know i never have much to say but when I do I really do...when it rains it pours!
talk to you all later
Love
Pam

10 things I learned today

Hey ladies,
Well I must say that today I have learned a lot of things. I would like to make a list for you so that you can remember it for future reference:
  1. When you have parent teacher interviews the next morning ask your brother not to go out and get really drunk and spend the night puking his guts out in your bathroom. Felt like he was actually in the room with me.
  2. Don't bother putting make-up on because by the time the parents are actually arriving you've spent 6 hours with 25 little angels.
  3. If you've dressed up for the interviews you are bound to have a child drop his milk on your foot, managing to get on both your shoe and pantihose.
  4. DO NOT choose the day of parent teacher interviews to paint with your class for the first time. Not for the obvious reasons, mess, paint on white clothes etc. but because the paint actually reeks and so does your class as you entertain these parents.
  5. If you open the windows to air out the class room while you go eat supper at 4:30, because that's the only break you have, when you return the class will be like an icebox.
  6. If you tell the janitor that you are freezing due to your class being an icebox it opens up the door for him to look at YOUR chest to see if this is true.
  7. Yelling at the janitor in the hallway while parents are awaiting their turn is not appropriate.
  8. Drinking a nalgene and a chocolate milk before 7 interviews that you stupidly scheduled back to back is not a wise idea for obvious reasons.
  9. If you want parents who you don't expect to show up to actually show up schedule 7 interviews back to back. They'll be sure to come then.
  10. All of the previous can be solved if you mix ice, ice cream, milk and Baja Rosa together in the blender, this is what I'm doing now.

Love ya girls,

And you all better coment on this one!

Summer in PEI

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to do some last minute studying for my pathology midterm tonight. I've had a crazy week and am looking forward to my break next week!!! Last weekend I had a great time with Michelle and my family. Darcy's sisters are coming for the break and arrive Saturday. Darcy's brother got engaged on the weekend! (For those who don't read Darc's blog.) They just set a date of August 6th (this summer!). I haven't told my mother yet...I can't wait for the comments. I was hoping to go away to Europe for part of the summer with my friend Julie but that's going to cut short my travel plans. Matthew also has his jaw surgery July 6th. It looks like I'm going to be home for a lot of time this summer because I can't afford to go back and forth! OK...I should get back to studying. Miss you all!!

Valentines Day....

Hello Ladies how is everyone doing? Well how was everyone's valentines day yesterday, I figured there would be some interesting posts on here about what people did. It was great. I love eating out like that. And after our meal there is a french passtire chef who sent us home with choclate hearts with chocolates inside of them.
Well I got a new Lululemon shirt today ( i got it off of ebay) and i'm off to spinning class now and I'm super pumped to be wearing it! Lindsay you and I can be lulu sisters now! I've got a coat coming in the mail too...so much fun.

Canadian Idol hoax

I was working the other night with a girl that tried out for Canadian Idol here in Van city. She told me the whole process and I was quite shocked!!! Now I know how they get the terrible people to go on T.V. Apparently the whole thing is set up in groups of no more than 5 people being judged at a time (for the first round of judges). At that time the judges pick the best and the WORST out of those 5 and send the others packing even if they were amazing!!!! I know, I know the whole media thing and funny singers produce ratings, but it still makes me sad that some of the people auditioning just don't get a chance because "Joe Cool" with his bad voice decides to try out and is funny enough to get on t.v. That is the media for ya and they make the big bucks!!! I swear when I move to Costa Rica to live in my "beach hut" with my surfer husband there is no way I am buying a television. Although I am still watching Canadian Idol to see Steven sing Heave Away. That will be worth it!!!!

I miss having friends!

Hey ladies,
Michelle and Amanda I miss you two so much. The rest of you I miss too but the rest of you have been gone forever so I don't really notice it. Last night though sitting at Johnny Woo's I was like I miss my friends. And Howie was like that's too bad, are you gonna eat that? Anyway last night my friend Erin was going out with a couple of her friends and her roomate and his friends. (Including JC) So we all headed to Morons and of course found Jeff, Howie and Rammer and danced a lot which was fun. But I didn't see anyone interesting at all which totally sucked. But I'm holding out for next weekend. People will be home next weekend because this weekend they may have been away for Spring Break. And so they'll be home and out and so will Marla!! I can't wait for that!
Anyway hope you all had a great weekend

Out on the Town

well I went out last night (Sat.) and what a weird night, first we went to the bitter end cause Katies friends were there and Beth and I decided to strike up some converstaions only to figure out that this was a GAY bar!? Yea so that was weird....a couple more drinks and I really didn't care I felt good. Then we went to the alehouse, as I was getting in line who do I see none other then Michelle Jay, Neil and Mary it was good to see them, we chatted for awhile. I went inside got hit on by the bouncer ( which I couldn't understand then and can't understand now)....I mean aren't bouncers always cranky? Weird I was didn't understand. So afterwards we went to the pita pit...yum yum. Katie told me she was going to the gym this am (she was a no show) so I went over head spinning and pounding I didn't stay too long. But I wanted Carolyn to know something, do you remember Rebekah that we hung with at teh lower deck, the one buying all the drinks for us ? Well she is related to Johnathan Butler....there mothers are sisters. I nearly died when she told me...now did she tell us that night? Well I told him he was a good guy and that you dated him ..small world.Anyways I'm tired and cranky and have to work on my lit review. I'll talk toyou later
Pam
oh yea Kendra, why didn't you call this weekend? You should have....... you could have taken part in these adventures ! hahaha

They're out of control

I can't believe it. Everytime I look at the boy's blog I'm astounded at how they just can't let high school die. It's unreal! I just looked at it and Scarth and JD have a list of like 30 people's nicknames. I'm still waiting for them to say something about at least one of us. Lynds, don't let Darcy tell them that other people read it. I'm just waiting for them to say something really bad and then post a comment :) They're so stupid. Anyway, I just felt the need to share that with everyone. Later!

Stupid Boys

Hey...wow I can use colour now! My computer won't let me. I thought I was doing something wrong before. I already got mad at Darc because his site has turned into Gray bashing. If they make fun of any of us I'll get on there. They'd be pretty stupid to do that considering Darc started it and you're my friends. Keep in mind I don't think they don't know anyone else from the Gray is reading it. I'm sure we could say some evil things on here and make us look like bitches too. For example - our password! Anyway, I'm hoping their rant ends soon.

Michelle...what are your plans for Saturday (12th)? Looks like I'm coming to Otown with Darc because my Dad has meetings there. I really shouldn't be going because I have so much work due next week. It's still not 100% that I'm going. We're trying to get our Osce test pushed back after the break and if it doesn't get moved then I can't go. It looks like it will get moved because our pathology teacher scheduled our midterm at the same time. I have my fingers crossed. Sorry it's last minute. I'll understand if you have a hot date and can't see me.

talk to you soon. Love, Lyndsay xo

Another day, another dollar

Hi ladies,

Don't have much to tell you today. Another day gone by. I got paid today which was quite exciting, but that was probably the only exciting thing that happened. I've been reading Darcy's blog (peiiswhere.blogspot.com) and I agree with Carolyn, I'm just waiting for the moment Matt Allas says something about me or any one of us. My fond memories of him from high school include us fighting in Mr. Roper's geometry class, and having to suffer through having a locker next to him and him copying my calculus assignements in first year even though he was smarter than me. Go figure. I am getting even more excited for the trip out west. I was in touch with Lee yesterday (met him in Sydney...he's the one from Texas who says y'all) and he's moving back to Cali at the end of this month and wants to come meet up with me and Amanda when we get to San Diego :) Could be a good time. As for news from the real world, I've got nothing. I was trying to round up some people to go bowling tonight, but it doesn't look like that's going to work out, so I suppose I'll be watching Lost instead. Look like a good one. I should be off...it's 4:01 which means I've been here one minute longer than I should be. Talk to you all soon.

Love,
MC

Over The Cold

Hello ladies....well I think I'm finally over the cold. Yesterday I was still feeling kinda dizzy but today I'm good (little cough) but good! Last night I went to spinning class (yes my bum is sore) and I think I spun it out of me! hahaa Well not too much new with me, working on a paper for tomorrow for research methods. Fun fun! Working everyday to which kinda takes up a lot of my time. So why was it that Kendra stayed in the taxi while everyone was partying it up? Sick? And how is that we can view other people's Blog? Well I don't have much else to say so BYE

Pam

PS welcome to the Blog Marla.....

Tuesday, February 08, 2005

Wow

Have you guys been reading Darcy's blog? They seem to live to make fun of our high school class, I'm just waiting to see them make fun of me! Anyway that's about it, I'm trying to finish up planning for my kids as I'm out at a PD day tomorrow. Posts are getting fewer and farer between. Must mean the novelty is wearing off or we just really suck. I think Friday night I may go to the Rocket game with my mom. For those of you who have lost touch, the Rocket games on a Friday night will be packed and that's where everyone will be so it could be fun. Anyway must get back to American Idol. PS What song should I sing when I audition for Canadian Idol? I have it narrowed down to Amazing Grace or Dirty Pop. You guys vote and I'll take the majority.
